Reviewmeta.com: Pass: Logitech K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard

Wireless keyboards, the ultimate in convenience, have now been made even more hassle-free with the launch of the new Logitech® Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 - the company's first light-powered keyboard. The keyboard is powered by light but can stay charged in total darkness for up to three months. OK, so the Logitech Solar Keyboard is close to twice the size of that from Apple, but it's more ergonomic, better laid out, has more keys and to my experience gives a better user experience - just my sixpennyworth, but I like it.

Got mine today, opened the box and the 'enter' key piece is missing. I find it on the left side of the box. The outer box it came in had no bubble wrap inside for protection, but outer box didn't look damaged when I received it.

I try to clip the enter key back in place, but it doesn't seat right and pops back out with minimal bumping. So I call Logitech and get put on ignore for awhile; but as I'm at work, I give up on that and try to log in online, but Logitech website doesn't recognize the email/pass I had set up earlier, even though I know it was correct, so I make a new account. I still can't find any help in making an immediate return so try phone support again, and after about 10-15 minutes I get to talk with Chris. I tell Chris how the keyboard arrived and he sets up a return to ship it UPS back to Logitech for free (better be), and they'd 2-day ship a new keyboard to me when they receive the other one. But first Chris tries to tell me that they'll send me a black keyboard - I quickly correct him, that the windows version is black, not the Mac version.

He tries to tell me that the Mac version comes in different colors, so I have to explain the product to tech support person Chris, since I seem to know more about it than he does. I explain that there's different colors on the Mac keyboard, but only at the top, the rest of the keyboard is light colored. He finally finds the correct replacement keyboard. I'm not impressed Logitech. Click to expand. But Chris WAS looking at the pc keyboard instead of the mac keyboard in our conversation.

I ordered a white one. The first one shows up damaged. I'm told to ship it back and will receive another 2-day shipped as soon as they receive the broken one. Logitech received the broken one back on Monday and emailed me they had received it. I received the replacement keyboard 5 business days instead of 2 (got it today). It's a 750 Mac keyboard and yes they do make a Mac 750 in black, because that's what they sent. BUT I ORDERED A WHITE ONE.

Will hook it up in a bit and see if it works. I'm very unimpressed.

This was not rocket science, a white mac 750 keyboard. I received mine last week and so far I like it.

The Enter key on the keypad was off the keyboard when I opened it, but it was easy enough to snap back on. The one complaint I have is that the function keys can't be used as standard function keys, despite what I have set in System Preferences. This has been reported by quite a few people on Amazon. This is a pain point for me because I do a lot of coding on my Mac and use the function keys for stepping through code. The plastic finish also doesn't come close to the sexiness of the Apple keyboard, but of course Apple doesn't offer a wireless keyboard with a keypad. Other than that, it's a pretty cool keyboard. EDIT: Logitech has addressed the F key issue.

Read about it here. I just noticed I never updated in this thread.

I bought my keyboard after getting one of the 50% off Logitech coupons about a month ago. It worked right out of the box, with one setup in LCC needed. I really like the feel of the keyboard when typing on it. I also have a window in front of my desk, so it is getting plenty of light to keep it charged.

My only real gripes are that I thought it was metal, but it is actually all plastic, which is not really a big deal. Also, my MX Revolution mouse doesn't work with the unifying USB receiver, so I have to have a separate dongle for that mouse. My Magic Trackpad will sit alongside the keyboard, but not line up/dock with it as it can with the Apple keyboard with the aid of a Twelve South Magic Wand, but is that really necessary? I have both keyboards and much prefer the Logitech one. The Logitech keyboard is not the same shape/size as the Apple one so they're not a perfect match. OK, so the Logitech Solar Keyboard is close to twice the size of that from Apple, but it's more ergonomic, better laid out, has more keys and to my experience gives a better user experience - just my sixpennyworth, but I like it. Click to expand.I plan on doing that, but it's tough to just stop using something that is working perfectly fine.

I have a Performance MX at work, and it's great. I did notice one odd thing, though. I have an MX Anywhere mouse I keep in my backpack and tried to get it to work with my keyboard's receiver, and it never saw it.

I know the mouse is still working since my notebook saw it and picked it up right away. Do you need to do something in Logitech LCC to get it to see the new stuff to add to the receiver?

Logitech Illuminated K800 Keyboard Well designed and functional with press light keys. Battery life is adequate, battery could be upgrade to 3000 ma or higher on Ni-Ox or maybe lithium type batteries. I have one problem the 'b' key is to sensitive -just barely touch it and it will be display on you document. Wireless connection is well exactitude and simple to install. Overall the price is right and it is very functional key board with back light. I would give it a excellent rating with the exception of that on key that is to sensitive, to easy to punch the 'b' key and adding the letter 'B' to your documents.

It's just another capable keyboard with a few extras. Unlike other reviewers I am not going to gush like a little kid as many have. The two main selling points of the keyboard are Backlighting and the teeny Unifying receiver small enough to leave in your laptop while transporting that also serves mice and trackballs. Get another keyboard/mouse to leave at home or office and only jug the laptop around. Variable (user-controlled) backlight intensity is nice and all you do to activate backlighting is pass your hand over the unit. Lights will go out after about 5 seconds after you remove your hands. FN keys are programmable to whatever you desire but that is common on many k/b's.

    Pairing Logitech K750 Keyboard

Low profile (1 inch without legs extended) and case form is very smooth and un-bulky. If you are done with it for a while or need workspace for something else, it balances on its rear edge so you could slide it into a bookshelf if needed. It's not suited for an uber user but they probably already have a Das Keyboard. Bottom line, It's just another keyboard with a few extras that I was willing to pay extra for. It won't make your breakfast but it is a very capable input device for your pooter. Even though the target audience for this product uses laptops, I bought this for my desktop. (Added 8-22-11) Battery life is advertized at appx.

Reviewmeta.com Pass Logitech K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard For Mac

10 days between charges but I am now going on 3 weeks since last charge even though I use highest backlight setting and never turn the keyboard off. This is the first wireless keyboard I've seen that enables you to go into the BIOS preboot. Before, If I had to access the BIOS I would cuss the k/b as I had to break out a wired k/b for this. In fact, if you don't need/want to reprogram your FN keys, there is no need to install the Logitech SetPoint software. True Plug-and-Play. Underwhelming The keyboard is sleek, lightweight and populated with a full numpad and FN hotkeys.

It's also easy to setup and pairing it to a unifying receiver is effortless. My biggest gripe with this keyboard is the backlighting. Even with the SetPoint software, there is no way to keep the lighting on permanently. I understand this is a battery saving feature, but I don't like being denied an option for practicality.

If I want to expend the battery every 5 or so hours because I want the keys to light up, that should be my choice. Limitations do not sit well with me.
